On behalf of the Department of Pediatrics at Stony Brook University School of Medicine and Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, MillicanSolutions, LLC, a leader in academic pediatric executive search, has initiated a national search to identify candidates to serve as an outstanding academic leader and direct the Division of Pediatric Critical Care as Chief, Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. The successful candidate will hold a faculty appointment with Stony Brook University School of Medicine. The Chief will have the goal of advancing the field of Pediatric Critical Care medicine through patient care, practice innovation, research, and education. The Chief will serve as a role model for professionalism in the Division, the Department, and the interactions with Stony Brook University School of Medicine and Stony Brook Children’s Hospital partners, referring physicians, families, and the community, promoting positive relationships, excellent responsiveness, and exceptional patient focused care. The new Division Chief will be responsible for the comprehensive operations of the Division, the clinical services of the PICU, and Pediatric Special Procedure Suite. Stony Brook Medicine integrates and elevates all of Stony Brook University’s health-related initiatives: education, research, and patient care. It includes six Health Sciences schools; Dental Medicine, Health Technology and Management, Medicine, Nursing, Social Welfare, and Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences as well as Stony Brook University Hospital and 100 community-based healthcare settings throughout Suffolk County. Scheduled for completion in 2018 is the 150-bed Hospital Pavilion that will be the new home of Stony Brook Children’s Hospital and the more than 180-pediatric trained physicians specializing in 30-pediatric specialties. This state-of-the-art location will feature single patient rooms, family suites with private sleep and bathing areas, a Ronald McDonald Family Room, playrooms and teen relaxation spaces. It will also expand the pediatric research program at Stony Brook Medicine. The hospital will house separate units for oncology, adolescent medicine, the PICU, as well as the general pediatrics unit and Pediatric Special Procedure Suite. Requirements The candidate must be board certified in Pediatric Critical Care. Previous Pediatric Critical Care leadership experience highly desired. The compensation and academic rank will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
