Responsible for overseeing the operational activities and the ongoing enhancement of the Nursing Services at the Holy Spirit Hospital campus as assigned and directed by the Chief Nursing Officer. Oversees assigned areas of responsibility and operations and related activity in conjunction with the direct operational leadership teams in assigned areas.Duties and responsibilities will include directing the Operations Manager teams and department service lines which interface with Nursing Services and the overall system Nursing Service Line strategy.Assists in the oversight of all nursing clinical practice, employee relations issues, budgetary process, associated regulatory activities, quality and safety of nursing practice, patient care outcomes performance and compliance in all relevant areas. Performs all duties to promote and lead the highest level of patient care and maximum patient satisfaction.
Reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Nursing GHS.Works in conjunction with Service Lines.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This Nursing leadership role currently is responsible for the Behavioral Health Unit, Nursing Resources including Magnet designation, Clinical Education, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Research IRB.They also oversee the Staffing Office, including the float pool.This position is the key contact for Wound/Ostomy, Medical Infusion Unit, Dialysis and the Administrative Supervisors.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrates positive employee relations, staffing effectiveness and resource management.
Must possess successful conflict resolution abilities and budget management skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Current RN license or eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
Master's Degree in health care administration or related field preferred (or obtained within four years of hire).
Maintain nursing certification or related field required (or obtained within one year.)
Maintains membership in professional nursing organization.
Minimum of five to eight years middle/senior management experience in a health care setting required.
Management experience in an academic medical center or integrated health care delivery system preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in a clinical/office environment.
