Medical Eye Center is seeking BE/BC fellowship trained vitreo-retinal physician to a full time, partnership track position. The new associate will join our current vitreo-retinal specialist in our busy multi-specialty practice. Mid-career and fellows welcome to apply.
The position is based in Medford, OR, with limited travel to satellite office in Grants Pass, which is 35 miles away.
Medical Eye Center is a physician owned and operated full service ophthalmology practice founded in 1911 and has steadily grown to include 7 MDs, 3 ODs, and 1 PA. Other specialties include cornea and refractive, glaucoma, and oculoplastics. Ancillary services include optical and a medical spa that supports the oculoplastics program. The practice owns a 4 OR ASC onsite in Medford, along with 1 other local surgeon. The revenue profile is well balanced, with a large Medicare and insured population, plus many out of pocket services such as lasik, custom IOLs, oculoplastic and spa services, and optical shop.
Our practice has state-of-the-art facilities and equipment as well as a supportive staff of 150 people. Vitreo-retinal surgeries are performed in our ASC as well as a local hospital surgical suite.
We support a culture of transparency and taking responsibility for the role that each person plays in any situation. This means employed partner track physicians receive full financials, participate in board meetings and are consulted on decisions affecting them. They are invited and expected to give and receive feedback from partners, managers, and staff on a regular basis.
Our practice emphasizes high patient quality of care, a collaborative work environment, and work-life balance for our providers. Coupled with this outstanding practice opportunity is the benefit of outdoor living in Southern Oregon with a mild 4 season climate. Fishing, hiking, rafting, golf, bicycling, and backpacking are only a few of the options. Winter options include birding at the Klamath Wildlife Refuge, cross country skiing, or enjoy a 33 minute drive from Ashland to Mt. Ashland Ski Area for night skiing after work or on the weekend. For wine enthusiasts, the region is becoming well known as a producer of quality vintages. Cultural opportunities include the Tony award winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival, which operates 6 days per week for 9 months. The festival is located 12 miles away in Ashland, which offers outstanding dining, shopping, and many other theatre and music options. (See Vogue's 8/8/18 article: "Why This Oregon Town Could Be the Next Napa".) The outdoor Britt Festival offers a variety of concerts from June through September.
Competitive pay and benefits, plus relocation allowance.
