The Data Management Analyst Senior plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of Enterprise Information Management and the Unified Data Architecture (UDA). The UDA can include an enterprise data warehouse, big data platforms, BI and analytic tools, knowledge management resources, and an Enterprise Analytics center of excellence. The Senior will learn and help continuously improve and enforce our policies and procedures to ensure the mission and vision of the EIM team is met. The scope of these P&P will include development, data management, data governance, and PMO functions as you follow a software development lifecycle (SDLC) to build out a Unified Data Architecture and enterprise analytic assets such as reports and dashboards. The Senior takes a hands-on role in the execution of development and data management functions and will ensure high-quality development practices are followed and business needs are met on time, within budget. The Intermediate will provide input on technology selections for the UDA including data models, data manipulation, visualization/reporting tools, change control, project tracking, communication, business glossaries/metadata dictionaries, analytic inventories and any other software/hardware that impacts the services the EIM team provides. For all assigned projects, the Senior will track issues and risks and help to resolve or escalate as appropriate. The Senior will learn and ensure GHS policies are followed.
You will support the Keystone Accountable Care Organization, LLC and the related valued-based care activities. You will perform advanced integrated comprehensive reporting, consultative, and analytical expertise to provide data and information to internal and external stakeholders. Provide strategies to drive continuous improvement and strategic change for stakeholders. Play an integral role in assisting with developing methodologies, performing analysis, summarizing results and developing conclusions for project teams, leaders, and internal and external stakeholders.
The Senior Data Management Analyst may meet with business stakeholders to understand their needs and help identify or improve ideas for future analytics. The Senior should communicate and market the EIM and UDA capabilities to the organization and deliver appropriate training opportunities through User Group meetings and routine training sessions. The Senior may meet with leadership at all levels to learn the direction of the organization or department and communicate project status. The Senior will keep informed on developments in the healthcare industry and analytics offerings and participate in networking and educational events/conferences. The Senior will report to either the Manager or Director of CDIS Analytics.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates a strong focus and understanding of process control, data quality, data accuracy and report reproducibility, specifically through the use of objective quality checks and performance measures.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of healthcare industry data and processes spanning all areas of the enterprise including clinical, revenue cycle, operational, financial, and health plan lines of business.
Demonstrates a strong ability to understand business needs and translate them into business requirements that can be met through technology/data warehousing development.
Demonstrates an extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Visio is a plus.
Demonstrates a deep and consistent focus on exceptional customer service both to internal and external customers.
Demonstrates strong facilitation and project management oversight skills as they relate to PMO functions. Demonstrates a strong willingness to understand the EIM Software Development Lifecycle including the creation of key deliverables such as scopes, functional requirements, etc.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Demonstrates a willingness to mentor both hard and soft skills to other highly educated analysts.
Demonstrates an understanding of enterprise data warehousing concepts and the skills necessary to manipulate and merge data and files for analysis, research and presentation.
Demonstrates strong knowledge of SQL programming language, SQL-based reporting, or BI tools such as BusinessObjects, Crystal Reports, Altosoft, Xcelsius, QlikView, etc. or statistical analysis tools such as SAS, R, SPSS, etc.
Demonstrates strong working knowledge of at least one major RDBMS platform and operating system
Demonstrates an understanding of big data concepts and practices (e.g., Hadoop)
Demonstrates a strong understanding of the health care industry and stay immersed and up-to-date of major trends in the sector.
Demonstrates strong mathematical, statistical, financial, and organizational skills.
Demonstrates the ability to work independently, problem-solve, and make decisions.
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and to interface with all levels of staff/management within and beyond the organization.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Biostatistics (or related), Business, Epidemiology, Industrial Engineering or other relevant analytical/data field required.
Minimum of five years healthcare information reporting, data analysis (reporting/dashboarding) or informatics experience required.
Minimum of six years of non-healthcare industry data warehousing, data analysis (reporting/ dashboarding) or informatics experience may substitute for the above healthcare experience requirement.
Minimum of two years of this experience must be in a supervisory or project lead role.
Detailed working knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts and analytic tools such as BusinessObjects, Altosoft, SAS, R, Crystal Reports, Xcelsius, QlikView, MModal preferred. Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Microsoft, Teradata or experience with health care applications including EPIC, TSI, IDX, SMS, AMISYS, CoPath, etc. preferred. Experience or certification in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) or advanced training/education preferred.
Prefer five-year experience in clinical healthcare operations required including demonstrated experience in performance improvement, business process redesign, and Lean or Six Sigma projects.
Prefer five year demonstrated experience with EHR, healthcare billing or claims based applications in a complex health care environment. Strongly prefer exposure to health care industry regulations, revenue- cycle, best practices, quality and safety.
