The Patient Financial Assistance Representative will ensure that the documents submitted by the organization s Financial Counseling teams are compliant with the mandated state regulations for program approval. The representative will report any discrepancies or additional documentation that is required to complete an application to the site, in addition to, appropriately approving and updating information regarding coverage in the applicable patient accounting system.
Conduct daily reviews of Charity Care applications in the electronic application tool in addition to monitoring reports to ensure that the appropriate actions have been taken for accounts pending Medicaid and Charity Care.
Assist in eligibility system work queue review and resolution as well as the preparation for quarterly audits and will also serve as a liaison between the applicants and each facility regarding application follow up, billing and approvals.
HS Diploma required
Similar hospital billing or accounting experience
Knowledge of Charity Care. Uncompensated Care, and Medicaid guidelines and regulations
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification preferred
Candidate must be detail-oriented
Computer experience required
