Provides accreditation, program, and administrative support for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) skills-related and other activities of Geisinger. Coordinates individual skills-related and other educational activities across all Geisinger platforms system-wide. Interacts in a professional manner to guide physicians, nurses, advanced practitioners, and other health professionals in their roles as activity directors and planners as well as faculty and learners in Geisinger CPD programs. Responsible for meeting certification requirements of CE accreditors (e.g., AMA, ACPE, AOA, CDE, NBCC, ASRT, AAST, AAFP, AARC and ANCC) as well as logistical and administrative coordination in accordance with activity goals and CPD policies.
Reports to the Operations Manager, Academic Affairs.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Geisinger in its efforts to provide high quality patient care and patient experience.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Requires proven ability to work independently and with remote supervision off site. Experience with effectively collaborating with, thorough, and for a variety of professionals at all levels within and external to the organization.
Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment.
Requires good organizational skills and attention to detail and advanced computer skills, including web site development and management, spreadsheet and word processing; mathematical ability; and experience or knowledge of basic financial record keeping.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree with two to three years’ experience in administration required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, Education or another relevant field preferred.
An additional three years of related experience may substitute for the degree. Experience should include program coordination, or high-level administrative support with knowledge of administration in healthcare.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment, classroom and convention facilities and requires travel throughout the region, state or international with overnight travel and driving 6 – 10 times each year., as well as weekend courses.
