JOB TITLE: Medical Assistant LOCATION: HS Neurology DEPARTMENT: Neurology WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY: Supports patients and providers within the outpatient setting by performing basic direct patient care activities. Performs duties to support the efficient functioning of the department including supply and equipment inventory, ordering and stocking. Cleans rooms between patients and helps maintain an organized patient care environment.
Responsible for supporting quality patient care and providing excellence in patient experience.
Accountable to the clinic or department operational leadership and works generally under the supervision of the clinical staff.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates proficiency in CI CARE and supports a culture of service excellence.
Demonstrates the ability to accurately prioritize clinical and clerical tasks.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, accepts responsibility for continuing education to broaden skills and knowledge and demonstrates ability to work effectively with patients, families and providers.
Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team of environment to be flexible and maintain confidentiality.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School degree or equivalent required.
Completion of orientation for the Medical Assistant.
Certification of Basic Life Support (CPR) required within 3 months of hire.
Previous experience in health care setting preferred, but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
Staff may have access to non-controlled medications storage/supply areas and can transport non-controlled medications as necessary to meet the needs of the clinic/unit.
