JOB TITLE: Inventory Management Assistant, OR LOCATION: GMC Woodbine DEPARTMENT: Central Sterile Supply WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY: Completes activities related to the inventory management process for the Surgical Suite in order to contribute to the assurance of optimal patient care. Works closely with Supply Chain Surgical Suite staff to develop and maintain realistic supply levels with minimal inventory investment. Assists in the equipment inventory tracking and returns process. Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction. Works under the direction of the Surgical Services Inventory Supervisor.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively, perform arithmetic calculations, use a personal computer and follow instructions. Demonstrates good organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Demonstrates working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software programs.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous inventory management experience preferred. Previous surgical case picking experience preferred. Censis surgical instrument tracking system experience preferred. Lawson Software and/or QSight experience preferred. Requires three to six months on the job to become familiar with all duties.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Lifting to waist and above is required. May also require pushing and pulling of carts. Occasional lifting of heavier supplies may be required.
