The Business Development Analyst is responsible for preparing comprehensive analyses and reports using internal and external quantitative and qualitative data. Will access, analyze, organize and maintain substantial amounts of data and information from a variety of sources and be proficient in synthesizing the information in key point of interest to facilitate decision making for hospital COE service lines and physician referral trends. This position provides support for a full range of health system business development initiatives for the LBMMC. Work is performed in support of planning and decision making for significant business development opportunities and system initiatives related to integration/access, growth/increased market share and competitive position. Prepares a wide variety of planning/business development materials/tools, including business plans, needs assessments, presentations, reports and related materials based on financial, and competitive market data.
Essential Job Outcomes & Functions:
Works collaboratively with the business development team and service line leaders to develop and progress business plans for new and expanded service lines
Develops the annual report on market share trends; provides market share data as requested to service line leaders to assist in strategic planning
Produces monthly and quarterly volume reports to evaluate referral trends
Coordinates the monthly updates for service line and executive visibility boards; collects and compiles data for documents
Manages the monthly updates for service line and executive visibility boards; collects and compiles data for documents
Manages the strategic plan trackers for COE service lines and same store growth initiatives
Prepares physician relations activity reports
Compiles the results for the annual physician satisfaction survey
Gathers competitor facility/service line market share data and conducts overall analysis in business development planning
Performs other duties as assigned
Expertise required in research/analysis, data manipulation and report writing. Proficient in Excel and Powerpoint. Experience with financial decision support systems.
Considerable knowledge of the principles, professional standards, practices, methodologies and tools relating to strategic business planning and business development.
An understanding of healthcare planning resources and other key data sources for accessing/gathering/interpreting information relevant to trending, feasibility and growth studies in support of the development of service line strategic plans and other growth initiatives.
Requires BA or BS in Health Administration, Business or Finance; Master's Degree preferred; 5+ years analytical and planning experience in the health care environment.
