Valley Children's Healthcare is seeking a Director of Acute Care in Madera, CA. Ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best children’s hospitals in the country in seven pediatric specialties and recently named one of the Nation’s Top Children’s Hospitals by The Leapfrog Group, Valley Children’s has been open for nearly 70 years. It has grown from a 42-bed hospital to one of the largest pediatric healthcare networks in the Country.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Assistant CNO & Inpatient Services, The Director ensures optimal quality patient care provided by the Acute Care Units of the Patient Care Division.
Position Details and Responsibilities:
Develops and implements both short and long term planning relative to the Clinical Operations functions, staff, and physical space
Aligns the goals of the various departments with the strategic direction of the Hospital
Ensures high levels of patient, family, and employee satisfaction
Manages staff development and the maintenance of staff competencies
Accountable for maintaining compliance with regulatory and legal standards
The incumbent is required to work closely and in collaboration with many different constituencies, both internally and externally
Understands, supports, and promotes the Hospital's mission, vision and core values
A minimum of a Master's Degree and either the Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree must be in Nursing
Candidate must have a valid California RN license
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a hospital management or administrative leadership position
Minimum three (3) years clinical nursing experience
Certifications that are preferred include the following: CNA, CHE, FACHE

Effective written and verbal communication
Financial management and business literacy, information technology understanding, organizational design and assessment
Highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills
