The Communications Specilist develops, coordinates, and executes communication strategies for the system designed to protect and enhance the Geisinger brand, increase employee awareness and engagement in organizational strategic priorities, and foster positive media and community relations.
Partners with internal communication team to assure alignment of strategic messaging priorities for Geisinger.
Supports creation of local internal communications content as it relates to key initiatives.
Ensures leverage of internal communication channels, for key messaging and campaign updates, with provision of clear, open communication that provides critical, relevant, and timely information to employees, physicians, and leadership.
Effectively uses all communication channels as needed including: email, website, Exchange pages, newsletters, video, social media, and face-to-face meetings.
Supports media relations team in support of Geisinger's local and regional goals.
Aligns media opportunities within strategic planning as appropriate.
Assists with issues and marketing efforts at platforms, campuses, and other identified locations.
Develops events, activities and promotional tactics designed to increase visibility in the community and among employees.
Acts as the face of Geisinger in the community as appropriate.
Audiences may include: business leaders, physicians, potential patients and families, donors, government officials, the media, and other special interest groups.
Discovers local opportunities for Geisinger's strategic alignment.
Coordinates local sponsorships, assuring that the Geisinger brand is supported.
Manages and leads media placements and alignment.
Monitors Geisinger locations in assigned region for adherence to brand standards.
Ensures replacement and update materials as needed.
Supports local distribution of system marketing messages and materials.
Serves as project lead for specific brand projects.
