The CI is the subject matter expert for the EHR and will be responsible for select participation on work teams to design, build and test changes to the EHR.The CI is responsible for communicating EHR changes to physicians, customizing content to support clinical workflow and educating nursing and department leaders on EHR changes.The CI will regularly perform hospital rounds to provide informatics service and support to physicians and clinicians.The CI is the primary point of contact for EHR issue escalation and resolution improving the customer experience.The Clinical Nurse Informaticist functions as a knowledgeable practitioner, consultant, educator and evaluator to maintain and improve clinical systems services.This position is responsible for the daily oversight of integration of informatics into the clinical operations within the hospital. This integration includes identification of system requirements from an operational perspective, standardization of clinical systems and oversight of the clinical operational workflow components (workflow redesign) within the hospital. This role requires experience in clinical operations.In addition, it is critical that the individual be familiar with hospital internal operations to provide proper guidance of budgetary and operational policy related to the selection of, standardization of, and introduction of new applications in the hospital. This role requires extensive experience in collaborating with business partners and ensuring successful selection/standardization of clinical applications established within the Tenet clinical informatics strategy.
The hospital clinical informaticist (CI) will lead the implementation and optimization of clinical applications, projects and initiatives that support providers and clinicians in providing quality patient care in the most efficient manner using technology.The CI will combine their clinical knowledge and informatics expertise to promote the adoption and optimization of the electronic health record (EHR).The CI will operationalize informatics changes that support policy, procedure and clinical standards.
The CI will align with information systems (IS) and clinical operations to operationalize changes that improve clinical workflow associated with the EHR.The CI will align with the hospital CNO, nursing and key department leaders to promote the adoption of clinical applications and meet clinical and IS performance metrics through the effective use of data and reporting.
The CI is accountable for ensuring the hospital trainer or clinical informatics specialist is performing job duties as assigned. The CI collaborates with the MDI to improve physician and clinician satisfaction with the EHR, promote ï¿½voice of the customerï¿½ and improve IS service and support. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelorï¿½s degree preferred
3 years of experience in clinical nursing, with 2 years of experience in clinical informatics required
Current RN CA license required
Nursing informatics with ANCC preferred
