The incumbent will be assigned to the Mental Health Service Line at the Auburn Gresham Outpatient Clinic, a community based clinic of the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago. The candidate will be board-certified or board-eligible, highly skilled in the management of patients' mental health needs, and the evaluation and treatment of a diverse range of mental health disorders. Primary duties will be assigned by the clinic's MHSL lead or designee. Duties include, but are not limited to: treatment and professional direction of mental health outpatient care, including Acute, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Substance Abuse, Dual Diagnosis, telemental health and psychiatric consultations. Must be clinically competent to perform examinations, diagnosis, therapeutic treatment, be effective in handling emergencies, patient management and document in patient records. Must be effective in teaching (patient education and co-workers). Must be effective in planning, using administrative judgment and should have sound decision making skills. Must be emotionally stable, dependable and adhere to ethical standards. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
