Academic Gastroenterologist- Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Richmond, Virginia has an opening for a full-time Academic Gastroenterologist to serve as Chief of the Gastroenterology Section. Candidates must be BC/BE in Gastroenterology and have experience in the full range of gastroenterology clinical services to treat conditions affecting the GI system. The Central Virginia VA Health Care System (CVHCS) invite applications for an innovative and inspirational faculty leader for the position of Chief, Section of Gastroenterology. The CVHCS is based in Richmond, Virginia and serves a diverse veteran population of 62,000. The incumbent is accountable to the Chief of Medicine assuring the most effective delivery of care in services within Medical Service. The section is multifaceted with multiple physician-scientists, clinician-investigators, and clinician-educators and offers a wide range of services including Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Esophageal Motility, Metabolic Liver Disease, ERCP, Clinical Research, and Liver Transplantation. The candidate must be a board-certified/eligible Gastroenterologist with demonstrated national leadership experience clinically and in basic and/or clinical research. Prior experience in administration and/or leading clinical and research initiatives is preferred. Candidates at the rank of Associate or Full Professor will be considered. Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday; 8:00AM to 4:30PM; however, subject to change, depending on the needs of the service/medical center.
