This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday Financial Disclosure Report: Not required The staff physician in the Pulmonary Section of Medical Service will be responsible for attending on the Pulmonary consultation services and in outpatient chest clinics at the Palo Alto and Livermore Divisions. Functions/Scope: Provide specialized pulmonary diagnosis and treatment to patients at the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System. Attend on the inpatient consultation services, in the outpatient clinics, in the bronchoscopy suite, and on other clinical services covered by the Pulmonary Section. Perform invasive procedures for which s/he has been trained and granted privileges. Interpret pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gas results and cardiopulmonary exercise tests. Participate in process improvement and quality assurance projects and other assigned administrative duties. Teach, train, and mentor fellows, residents, and medical students. Participate in the educational activities of the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine in the Stanford University School of Medicine. Perform other duties as assigned by the section chief.
