Memorial Healthcare System, one of the largest public healthcare systems in the United States, is seeking a Chief of Abdominal Transplant Surgery for the Adult and Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who wants to lead and be directly involved with the continued growth of this program. Responsibilities include: oversight of program growth and strategic vision, development and maintenance of clinical protocols and administrative policies, oversight of key performance and quality indicators in kidney transplant, and developing strong relationships with surgeon colleagues and referring physicians. The incumbent will enjoy the full support of a collaborative administration while demonstrating continual leadership skills and setting an example for others in the program.
Successful candidates will meet the following criteria:
ASTS accredited fellowship training
Board certified in surgery and/or urology
Minimum of five years clinical experience in kidney transplant, including pediatric kidney transplant
Expertise in live donor laparoscopic nephrectomy and transplantation
Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-leadership skills
Demonstrated success in new program development and the establishment of policies and guidelines to monitor patient progress, evidenced–based clinical outcomes and the effectiveness of medical care
This is a full-time employed position with the multispecialty Memorial Physician Group. The position offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.
