DEPARTMENTAL SUMMARY:The PEDAL clinic (Programs of Evaluation, Development and Learning) a service through St. Charles Health System in Bend, Oregon, offers clinical excellence to provide the best care for children and youth with special health needs in Central and Eastern Oregon. Our PEDAL providers specialize in diagnosis, assessment and intervention related to disorders affecting a child's development. The clinic works closely with other specialties within SCMG, hospital departments and community providers/programs.
POSITION OVERVIEW: PEDAL Clinic - The Developmental Pediatrician will evaluate, treat and manage pediatric patients with a wide range of developmental and behavioral concerns and conditions such as autism spectrum disorders, neurodevelopment disorders, complex behavioral issues, feeding disorders, birth prematurity and concussions . The position also offers opportunity to participate on multidisciplinary teams with licensed psychologists, speech and occupational therapists, nutritionist and nurse navigation. We have strong relationships with community stakeholders, encourage collaboration and innovative services with community providers and value creativity and novel approaches to providing health care to this population. This is a clinical outpatient position.
Work schedule: The Developmental Pediatrician will work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Work location: The Developmental Pediatrician primary work location will be the SCMG PEDAL clinic in Bend, Oregon. Other outreach locations may be added as patient and business needs dictate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
(May perform additional duties of similar complexity within SCHS as required or assigned)
Providing Developmental Pediatrics care to children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and complex special health care needs at PEDAL, including:
Congenital Heart Clinic
NICU Follow up Clinic
Developmental pediatrician may also see patients individually for developmental issues.
Participating in interdisciplinary diagnostic evaluations in the PEDAL Clinics and making recommendations for further diagnostic testing, treatment and ongoing medical management of identified conditions.
Provide consultation and feedback to patients, families and providers.
Collaborate with other areas within the St. Charles Hospital System such as NICU as requested.
Prepares reports for patient records and summary reports on service delivery within SCMG electronic health record.
Be familiar with the SCMG organization structure, communications systems and billing process, completing billing and coding documentation within time assigned by SCMG administration.
Keep all licenses and appropriate certifications current and unrestricted.
Maintain active privileges at a St. Charles Health System hospital sufficient to permit performance of job duties.
Increase understanding and collaboration throughout the medical community regarding provider's chosen specialty.
Participate in SCMG Provider meetings and assist in policy formation for SCMG and Provider's practice.

Provide a therapeutic presence in service to others by purposefully responding to the needs of patients/customers in a caring way. This includes introducing oneself and stating your purpose, asking the patient their preferred name, spending time with the patient to determine their care goals, active listening, and using skillful communications (appropriate touch, eye contact, etc.).

Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, supporting the health system's corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner, reporting known or suspected violations of applicable rules, and cooperating fully with all health system's investigations and proceedings.
Provides ongoing provider leadership, education and mentoring to clinical support staff including.
Interpret and report on diagnostic tests in a timely manner after the diagnostic procedure is completed for outpatient procedures.
Provide information and services that enhance others' ability to acquire what they need or to complete the task. Share information both when requested and when anticipating someone might have a need.
Is present and punctual for assigned workdays, in compliance with the SCHS policy on attendance.

Oregon license as MD/DO
Board Eligible/Certified in Pediatrics.
Completed Residency or Fellowship in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities or Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics.
Board eligible/certified in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities or Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics.
Membership with applicable state/national organization preferred.
Maintain unrestricted ability to participate in Medicare / Medicaid, or other federal or state governmental health care programs.
Current BLS certification required.
>1 years' experience in hospital and/or outpatient practice environments providing care in Developmental Pediatrics
Five years active practice in Developmental Pediatrics
