Postdoctoral fellows will have the opportunity to obtain outstanding training in the practice of clinical psychology under the direction of Dr. Barbara O. Rothbaum and Dr. Sheila A.M. Rauch, with in-depth training in providing evidence-based treatment for the invisible wounds of war (including PTSD, MST, TBI, SUD/dual diagnosis, and depression, among others), serving our nations veteran population, and contributing to the advancement of knowledge in evidence-based care. Postdoctoral fellows train within an interdisciplinary team in traditional outpatient and an innovative intensive outpatient setting, with opportunities to train in individual, group, and family modalities. Services are offered in a hybrid model including both telehealth and in-person service provision, with careful adherence to infection prevention precautions for the safety of trainees, patients, and staff. Administrative and supervisory activities are currently conducted virtually.
The EHVP Fellowship is structured with a dual focus on clinical research and advanced clinical training. Research interests among EHVP faculty include, but are not limited to: PTSD, anxiety, psychotherapy outcomes, military sexual trauma (MST), exposure therapy, substance use disorders, virtual reality-based exposure therapies (VRET), adjunctive pharmacological therapies (MDMA, THC), use of technology/applications in assessment and intervention, neurobiological predictors/outcomes of PTSD treatments, and early intervention/prevention of PTSD.
The Emory Healthcare Veterans Program (EHVP) is currently seeking candidates for our two-year postdoctoral psychology fellowship beginning Fall 2022.
