Great Physician Hematology/Oncology Opportunity in Fresno, CA- Generous loan repayment up to 200K!
The VA Central California is seeking applications for the position of staff physicians. We're seeking a board certified, full-time permanent hospital employed physician to join our Hematology/Oncology department at the Fresno, CA VA Medical Center Hospital. Our ideal candidate will enjoy a busy, academic, heavy clinical practice and be dual board certified in Hematology Oncology. We are specifically seeking someone to focus in solid tumors with GI and sarcoma/melanoma as well as hematology. Join a department that is expanding clinical area to better serve veteran patients!
Qualified applicants will have an MD, current medical license and be board-certified or eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology. The clinical activities of the Section of Hematology/Oncology span the breath of the subspecialty and are strongly supported by surgery, pathology, radiology and the other Faculty members of Medicine Service.
Salary Range - $280,000- $348,000
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, (May be required to work evenings or weekends as a 24/7 Full-Time Physician).
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
- Board Certification in Hematology & Oncology is preferred, but Board Eligibility may also be considered. Additional board certification in Internal Medicine is preferred.
The VA Central California HCS, based in Fresno, proudly serves veterans throughout Central California. The medical center is situated on 18.5 acres and is a 57-bed acute care, general medical and surgical center with state of the art primary and secondary care in major diagnostic and treatment specializations, including a 12-bed inpatient psychiatric unit, and three CBOC’s. A 54-bed Community Living Center is located on campus and provides skilled nursing and rehabilitation care.
