Job Profile Summary
Penn Medicine is seeking a full-time BC/BE Thoracic Surgeon to join Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. Become a part of one of the nation’s best continued national leaders in the treatment of various thoracic conditions. As an early pioneer in minimally invasive surgical techniques Penn Medicine has made continuous advancements to provide quality patient care and recovery. Penn Medicine Thoracic Surgeons provide expertise in Robotic and Minimally Invasive procedures such as, minimally invasive lung resection, esophageal resections, surgery for gastroesophageal reflux disease, benign esophageal disorders, chest wall resection and reconstruction as well as surgery for mediastinal tumors and myasthenia gravis.
The thoracic oncology program is embedded in the state of the art Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, which houses surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and cancer genetics under one roof. The Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute team comprises physicians, advanced practice professionals, chaplains, social workers, behavioral health therapists, nurses, research professionals, nurse navigators, and dietitians practicing in one high functioning team.
Penn Lancaster provides coordinated and holistic care through our patient centered medical home model. Our care model incorporates medically necessary before and after care services, as well as access to socio-economic resources in the community. Physicians are provided the opportunity to participate in clinical and organizational improvement huddles and committees, providing opportunities to innovate within their own practices as well as the Penn Medicine health system.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Medicine (Allopathic/Osteopathic)
- Completion of an accredited Cardiothoracic or Thoracic Surgery Residency
- Possess or be able to obtain an unrestricted PA Medical License
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
