Overview
We are seeking to find a pediatric hospitalist to join our group at our community hospital in Fairbanks, Alaska. Alaska? Wait... Keep reading! We are a fun group of pediatricians with an "I got your back" attitude wanting to find the right fit to help take care of the infants and children needing hospital care in our community.
BC/BE in general pediatrics plus PALS/NRP needed
Approximately 1100 deliveries/year with peds in attendance at high risk deliveries
24/7 in-house coverage divided amongst our team in 12/24 hours shifts with flexibility in scheduling
Hospital areas covered: Newborn Nursery, Level 2 NICU, High risk deliveries, Pediatrics, ED/Surgery consults, Stabilization of critically ill infants/children prior to transport
Attending Physician for intermittent rotating pediatric residents and medical students

Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides and leads medical care, including medical care teams, to manage assigned patient population, maintains timely and appropriate documentation of such care, and actively participates in medical staff duties. Participates in utilization management and care management processes to ensure high quality, cost effective delivery of services. Meets production standards. Partners with administration and staff to support strategic and operational plans. Works collaboratively toward needed improvements. Shares night, weekend, and/or holiday call duties as stated in the Employment Agreement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an approved school of medicine with licensure in state where he/she practices.
Board Eligible/Board Certified by appropriate certifying board. Current DEA number.
Must apply for and maintain Medical Staff membership and clinical privileges at appropriate facilities if required by Physician's employment agreement. Requires commitment to healthcare and concern for people in distress, critical listening skills and ability to communicate clearly, desire to work with all types of people and work as a team member and excellent interpersonal skills. Able to meet desired business outcomes while maintaining quality of care. Must be willing to update skills constantly.
