The Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes in the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota is seeking an outstanding physician scientist for a tenure-track position in the field of diabetes and obesity to participate in building a nationally-recognized research division within a growing department. The ideal candidate will have active external funding at the time of application and a proven track record in extramural funding, a history of collaborative research, and experience in teaching and mentoring.
Position Highlights:
Will maintain an active research program
Provide care to a panel of your own patients in our outpatient practice based at the M Health Fairview Clinic & Surgery Center in Minneapolis.
Provide up to 4 weeks of inpatient consult service per year at the University of Minnesota Medical Center.
Participate in educational activities of the division to include attending physician duties in the fellows clinic and leading activities to build collaborative research in diabetes and obesity.
About the Division:
Our Mission is to develop and utilize state-of-the-art knowledge in improving the care of diabetes, endocrine and metabolic disorders.
Qualifications:
Medical doctor (MD, DO, MD/PhD) or equivalent.
Board certified in Endocrinology with the ABIM.
Will demonstrate the requisite clinical and research experience in Endocrinology with particular strengths in diabetes and obesity, as required for the academic rank of Associate Professor.
Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of the VISA while in the United States.
