The Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine is looking for a qualified Plastic Surgeon to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor of Surgery (TEC/VAMC).

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

• Serve as an attending plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Emory University Hospital and Veterans Affairs Medical Center and other sites that may be deemed necessary by the Section Chief over time.
• Attending position consists of expertise in microsurgery and reconstructive plastic surgery.
• Clinical responsibilities will be dedicated to all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery including microsurgery for oncological and traumatic deformities.
• Participate in the clinical education, training and development of residents through practice-site rotation activities and conferences.
• Oversee the clinical and translational research mission specific to plastic & reconstructive surgery.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• A valid, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia
• A controlled Substance Registration Drug Enforcement Administration Certificate

The minimum qualifications for medical faculty are a doctoral degree from an accredited school, successful completion of an accredited residency program, and Board certification or eligibility, if applicable, in the area of specialization. Completion of a Fellowship, either clinical or research, in an area related to the field of specialization is desirable. Faculty rank will depend on training, experience and professional achievement. Georgia medical licensure, D.E.A. registration, and malpractice insurance coverage must be obtainable. The candidate must be able to demonstrate legal status permitting him/her to work under applicable United States immigration laws.
